How do I access the flashcards for printing?
Hi–which flashcards are you referring to? Anki or a PDF from us?
I’m unable to play/listen to the Podcast Bonus Content on the page https://makotoplus.com/makoto-free-access/ both on my iPad and iPhone chrome/safari browser. Is it because I’m a free member or am I missing something? Thank you!
I think you found a bug! The example sentence play button is working but the episode play button isn’t. I’ll work on this and get it fixed today.
This happened on desktop, do I report here? One of the questions (the one for お正月) for the winter haiku had two answers out of four that were identical, but only one of those 2 is scored as correct. I took a screenshot if you need it.

Yesterday I was logged out of the app and after login again half if my sakura points were gone. Do the points get reduced when not using the app?
No. That shouldn’t happen. The system shows you have 40,079 points–was it higher than that? I didn’t build in a history of points so I can’t see what happened, but if you remember where you were, I can add them. I also need to fill out the “Sakura Store” so you can spend your points! Sorry… I’ve been so busy with other areas (Black Friday in particular)
But there may have been a hiccup with the latest release. I’ll check on it!

Yes! Today, I’ll work on finishing the Sakura rewards. That’s the last big piece before thorough testing of the in-app purchases (the scariest part before launch). There will be snags, but if they are small, maybe next week for the launch!
So, with the zoom feature off, does the login popup look better? Or should I reduce the image size more? Also, make sure you have the latest version. That screen should now say “Makoto Japanese Explorer” rather than story time. Thanks!
Under Diary Entry 1 Phrase 5 – under vocabulary you only show the verb -to come vs the full word used – ikimashita
Do you mean, the vocabulary list shows the dictionary form? That is by design. The conjugation is shown when you open the word. But is that confusing?
Under Cold Meals Phrase #3 under vocabulary Summer is not pronounced correctly – sounds like it being said Ha instead of Natsu. Also since Wa is a particle under vocabulary it is concisely being procounced HA instead of WA
I updated the pronunciation override for both (夏 was saying か, by the way). It may take a day for the cache to clear but I think this is fixed now.
I was trying to implement this but then I realized the conjugated form doesn’t have furigana. So, this won’t work as is. I will have to think about how to do this for the future.

I see it!–It’s about the quiz only having one question, right? That’s actually not a bug. It’s my laziness. Haha. I have only put in one sentence that is N1. I just finished some audio work for the app but this afternoon, I’ll add more quiz items.

I did add about 10 or so E-J yesterday. I’m packaging a fairly advanced story now (on Shibusawa Eiichi) and I’ll add several advanced sentences from that story to the J-E today. That’s how the quiz works: E-J, I have to create the sentences somewhat manually (not too difficult). J-E pulls from packaged stories (automatic once a story is packaged).
Sometimes a break is needed. I can imagine how busy it was in the last days. I’m looking forward doing more testing 🙂 – the app is great fun.
Thanks! I should push out a new version tonight which will fix a few of the bigger issues. I can’t wait until the only thing I have to do is adding data (stories, fox sayings, fun phrases, etc.)
If I delete the screen shot I was trying to append, the top of the blue “submit” button becomes visible. I’ll try to submit without the screen shot. You could make the huge “type” buttons at the top go away once one is selected. I managed the submit, but if I edit it, the two big red or green buttons at the top are there again, so if I try to add the screen capture again, the thin blue top of the submit button will disappear again. Fixing scroll so that the top layer scrolls, not the background, and getting rid of those two huge buttons will go a long way to making bug reporting via the WEB useable.
Sorry about that! I think it is fixed now. I moved the submit button above the image drop area.
Cannot submit bug on iPhone using safari and most recent ios. Fills out form, but there is no submit button. Scrolling scrolls the background, not the form.

Thank you! I’ve spent all day working on in-app purchases–I was chasing a nasty bug that turned out to be caching on my device. After I rebooted… It was fine. Oh well. So… I haven’t gotten anything done on the above issues. I also won’t have much time over the weekend, but I’ll get back to it on Monday for sure.

Ruby html tags in quiz: You are already working on it, but can confirm that I also got the opening and closing ruby tags in the quiz . . . same question.
Thanks! It should be fixed now. Definitely let me know if you spot anything weird with the data too. A lot of data was put together quickly just to test the app. Now I have to go back and polish and add more data. There aren’t many quiz questions yet. I am aiming to launch with 100 J-E and 100 E-J.
