I really like the way this is done, especially the breakdown of the sentence for better understanding of the full sentence structure in which the word is used. I would like if it did the slowed down version a couple times for you to copy, before trying to copy the normal speed a couple times to make it easier to build to the normal speed
I feel like I am a higher level than beginner but there are lots of expressions, language structures and vocabulary in the beginner podcast that are new to me. I like that the podcasts are small nuggets and I can try to make my own sentences based on the specific target structure. And of course, I love the looping audio.
You are definitely not a beginner, but I totally get what you mean. Occasionally I (Clay) will ask Yumi what such and such a word is and she will just shake her head and wonder how I ever managed to pass the JLPT 4kyuu (equivalent to today’s N5). Haha.
I hope you don’t mind if I post a link here to your Youtube channel and encourage people to view, subscribe, and then do the same thing. What a great way to practice speaking.
Glad you like it! Please subscribe with your favorite podcast player or on our YouTube channel to get the latest episodes (I always leave a link to the Makoto+ bonus content from there).
>>My only suggestion is for those who don’t want to skip files, maybe there would be a better way to go all the way to the first video?
Do you mean having to click “Load More” a lot to get to episode #1? Sorry about that. I just made it show 100 episodes. Let me know if it loads slowly for you.
Once we get past #100, I’ll probably create pages with 50 episodes each or something.

I’ll add another slow example sentence to repeat. 🙂 I’m glad it helps and thank you for the comment!

(Of course, if you do mind, just let me know and I’ll remove that link!)
This is amazing! And seeing the words being incorporated into basic sentences and in context is a great way to help commit that information to memory.

Ah I see, that would probably help. But it’s not a super important change, it’s just convenient. Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s going great!
Just joined Lifetime. these are great and I love the format!
Thank you! Glad you like this. We are planning a third podcast with similar contents but longer with much more explanation and examples.
